About

These pages are the personal journey of Brett Allan. I am a father, business owner, investor and try my hand at anything as these pages will show. I write these pages for my own personal recollection, bragging, hyperbolisation and gloating. I make no opologies for its crudeness, or its unpolished look and grammar or even the content. This is my story and through it I want to mentor those who need one. I know that a lot of foolish mistakes that I have made could have been averted if I had a mentor (and more importantly listened to them!).

If you would like to contact me, please email brett@blackrockaustralia.com and I will endeavour to get back to you within three business days.

  1. Aloha! Many thanks for your blog! Honestly I have never come across anything that cool.

G’day, just wanted to drop a line to say I can relate to alot of your blog. With a 19 month old and now a new addition 2 months ago the stress bucket has definately been on the fill. Balancing the flow out of the tap and the influx of more stresses has been difficult, but reading your analogy about the “Stress Bucket” has opened my eyes to new ways of keeping that buffer at a healthy level. Organised a catch up with the boys and a game of golf for the weekend to kickstart that tap flowing. So cheers!!

Look forward to what you’ve got to say about wages!

Hello Ty. Kids are one of the biggest contributors to stress – directly or indirectly through the stress that your partner is feeling – make sure he/she understands how it affects your bucket!

In regard to wages, they are the biggest scam in history (but a necessary one)! If you have a chance to start or purchase or even be involved in a business – take it. You may fail, but what you learn will be worth the failure. More on this later……

Totally agree, we both definitely understand the way our kids affect each others buckets. We both do our best to provide time to the other to release that tap as often as possible. Add the financial stresses of the new addition though and it’s a hard thing to balance.

As for the wages (and source of the financial stress) my eyes have opened alot to this over the past 5 years. I also view superannuation in the same category, where is the choice????
